Why Edward’s League?

In the Edward’s League method, ambitious learning goals and outcomes are extremely important, but they are not our only priorities. We place great emphasis on helping our students to continuously improve their language awareness. We make sure that they understand why they are learning specific language skills and how they will be able to put them into practice.

What makes Edward’s League different?

As well as setting clear educational goals and gradually developing our students’ linguistic awareness, we aim to ensure that they become global citizens.

Graduates of Edward’s League courses are young people who are able to put their skills into practice in any area of their lives: in their studies, in their future careers or in their leisure time. Their openness to the world is certainly facilitated by exposure to authentic materials from the English-speaking world included in the method.

Working with real-life resources, our students become familiar with different varieties of English, and are able to use them effectively across a range of communicative contexts. Plus, classes are taught in a way that promotes the development of young people’s skills for the future.

Independence

We encourage students to gradually take responsibility for their own learning and start planning it themselves.

Cooperation

The range of classroom activities promotes the development of social competence and teamwork skills.

Feedback

Students learn about effective study techniques and get ongoing feedback on their progress.

Self-confidence

As their language proficiency grows, students view English as their superpower that can unlock countless opportunities and experiences in life.

The thing I like about the Edward’s League course is all the interesting and useful things we learn. It allows me to do things like watch films in the original version. We learn quickly and in a fun way, and I really enjoy the classes.

Zuza, aged 12

Student

The method is very cool because we learn by talking and at the end of the unit we have a test to check our knowledge.

Julia, aged 13

I like the way the classes are taught. Every now and then we have to do a test to help us remember new material, and it’s very effective. We also have the Homework Site to help us consolidate what we have learnt in class. Each module has a ‘Catch the Tail’ test section.

I like the Edward’s League Homework Site app because it’s clear and easy to use and it motivates you to learn because the teacher regularly checks your progress.

The Homework Site app

Edward’s League students are given access to our Homework Site educational app, which is designed to help them consolidate and build on the knowledge acquired in class. Completing homework assignments in the app is just as important as classroom participation.

It is the combination of both that ensures excellent learning outcomes.

We follow an AMBITIOUS and UNCONVENTIONAL approach to teaching

We care about our students’ WELL-BEING

We respect our students, teach them independence and help them build a sense of ownership of their learning. We care about their feelings and encourage them to develop their intrinsic motivation to acquire knowledge.

We believe in PARENTAL COMMITMENT

Our carefully designed system ensures complete transparency in interactions between teachers, parents and their children, while empowering students to take responsibility for their learning and have a genuine sense agency over their progress.

Wartości

In teaching children and teenagers, we have consistently been guided by our values, which combine challenging objectives with a friendly and supportive classroom environment based on trust and relationship building. Students are involved in engaging classroom activities, acquire knowledge in a structured way, and receive continuous feedback on their own progress and the next steps in their learning journey.

Teenagers find it vitally important to understand and have some agency over the learning process, as this gives meaning to what happens in class and creates a sense of empowerment. We are committed to making our students feel at ease and we want learning to be an enjoyable experience that helps build their confidence.
